Why am I called Riona? That's a good question.

You might think at first that my name is just a misspelling of 'Rinoa', and you would technically be correct. I did misread Rinoa's name as 'Riona' when I first started playing Final Fantasy VIII.

By the time I started using Riona as my username, though, the spelling was intentional! I realised I was mistaken about Rinoa's name, but I thought, Well, Riona's a nice name. Maybe I'll use that as my username online. I knew I wanted a handle that sounded simple and namelike, rather than, for example, xxsquallrocks123 (although Squall does indeed rock). 'Riona' was ideal.

Well, it was almost ideal.

It's fine to call yourself Riona when you're not talking about Final Fantasy VIII. When you are talking about Final Fantasy VIII, though, it quickly starts to get confusing. I should probably have used a different name for creating a Final Fantasy VIII website.

I wanted to stick with Riona, though. By this point, it's been the name I go by online for over twenty years, so it would feel strange to call myself anything else!

I'm sorry for any confusion. I'll try to keep the use of my name to a minimum.
