Here's the eighth page of my ill-advised teenage effort at retelling Final Fantasy VIII in comic form!

Panel 1: ZOOSH

Panel 2: pant pant

Panel 3: Squall: (Zell?) (Hyne, seven pages in and I haven't even got to the prerequisite yet.)

You might quite reasonably wonder what the first panel here actually depicts. It's a top-down view of Zell zooming down the corridor from the inner ring to the cafeteria, dodging people on the way. Honestly, I don't know how you didn't get that. It's so obvious. You must be really embarrassed right now.

Above panel: FEAR MY BACKGROUND SKILLS

Zell: Hey! Do - do you have any hotdogs left?
Cafeteria lady: Not today, I'm afraid, dear. We're all sold out.

Panel 1: Zell: Damn—! ...it's hopeless if you don't get here early. All right, I'll try again next time.

Panel 2: *leave*
HOORAY FOR DOORS!

Seifer: ...Speeding. Let's go arrest that student for violation of academy regulations.
Fujin: AFFIRMATIVE.
Raijin: Roger, ya know!

Above panel: and once again time passes.

Panel 1: Quistis: Ah, there you are. Finally.

Panel 2: Squall: Quistis?
Quistis: Who were you expecting?

Below panel: awful, awful drawing of Quistis. no more back-view for me.

The text above these panels actually says 'and once again time passes. just assume that Squall went to the front gate, maybe using the Directory, maybe not. who knows?' But it stretches across the entire page, making it hard to fit in when I chopped up the panels for posting on this site, so I removed all of it except the most relevant part!

Squall: No - I mean, you look... different.
Quistis: ...

Quistis: Stay quiet about it.
Squall: May I ask why?

Below panel: everyone keeps switching sides! why? whyyyy?

Panel 1: Quistis: Harriet was drawing me incorrectly all through that scene. If we let a word slip about it, we're fired.

Panel 2: Squall: I fail to see the threat.
Quistis: Just stay quiet.

To be clear, I'm not threatening to expel them from Balamb Garden; I'm threatening to fire them from being in this comic.

Glad I worked out how to draw Quistis in the end, although this whole problem could have been avoided if I'd just looked up what she looks like in the first place.

And that's all I've uploaded of this silly thing so far! There's more where that came from. I'm very sorry.
